Historical Sketch

CLASSIC FASHION Apparel Industry was established in Al-Hassan Industrial Estate, Ramtha, Irbid, Jordan in the year 2003 by Mr. Sanal Kumar, the Chairman & Managing Director. He is a Chartered Accountant who has been in the garment industry since 1991 and he took two other professionals, with expertise in the garment industry, as his partners, Mr. Radhakrishnan Putharikkal, the President, a mathematics graduate, and Mr. Sreedharan Nair Ramdas, Vice President, an engineer.

At the start, there were only two production lines with 120-130 machines and a work force of 300 and the sales figures for the first year were just 2 million dollars. The growth was phenomenal and the Company could achieve 120 million dollars of export sales in 2010, with over 4800 employees and 2400 machines.

The operations have been diversified to include a washing unit that washes over 30,000 Denims/garments per day, a printing unit with an installed capacity of printing on 20,000 garments per day, an embroidery unit with an installed capacity of embroidering up to 60,000 garments per day, effluent treatment plants to recycle water for reuse, etc.

The organisational structure and hierarchical order of superstructure of CLASSIC FASHION Jordan are formed with the sole purpose of ensuring smooth and successful functioning of the unit as a close-knit family.

Mr. Sanal Kumar, the Chairman & Managing Director is the Founder and Man at the Top. He is a Chartered Accountant with over two decades of practical expertise in managing financial and technical aspects of the garment industry. He is one of the most respected professionals in this industry in the whole Middle East region.

Mr. Radhakrishnan Putharikkal is the President and the second in command. He is a mathematics graduate with 18 years of experience in all aspects of the garment industry. He has set standards, systems and procedures in all segments, including merchandising, procurement, production and shipping

Mr. Sreedharan Nair Ramdas is the Vice President - Operations. He is an engineering graduate with years of experience in establishing, developing and maintaining industrial facilities for garment-making and has been with CLASSIC FASHION right from its inception in 2003.

The goal of the company is to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction at all times and to continually strive for improvement. According to this policy, the Company identifies and conforms to the needs of the customers and takes immediate necessary action to eliminate or correct the cause for errors as and when identified. ‘Flawless perfection and consistency in quality’ is the motto of the Company.

In August 2006, CLASSIC FASHION was included among the Golden List established by the Ministry Of Labour of the Kingdom of Jordan in consideration for complying with international / local social & ethical compliance requirements.  The Company is also a participant in ‘ILO-IFC Better Work Programme’ for the welfare of the employees.

This monitoring scheme of Better Works Jordan certifies Classic Fashion for producing Garments to major Retailers & Brands like Wal-mart, Kohls , Hanes Brands Inc, Jones Apparel Group, Sears Corporation, Lands End , to name a few

CLASSIC FASHION is at present the number one garment exporter in Jordan both in volume and dollar value of garment exports and has done 11.8% of country’s garment export for the year 2010.  The Company is also the biggest in Jordan in the number of people employed.
